NOEL PLEMMONS
stumbled into dance by accident during his third year studying anthropology at UC Berkeley. His beginning modern instructor, the Cunningham based Carol Murota, inspired Noel to keep dancing regardless of his lack of training. The seed was planted, and after a few years trying to impress his parents as a corporate drone, he went back to dancing and made it a full-time passion. Noel studied under the SF based site-specific choreographer, Lizz Roman, where he learned unprecedented skills in partnering, inversion and release. He danced for Lizz Roman & Dancers for three years before moving to Portland. He is honored to have worked during his tenure in San Francisco with Erin Mei-Ling Stuart of EmSpace Dance, Manuelito Biag of Shift Physical Theater, Yannis Adoniou and Company Mécanique, and Jenny McAllister of Huckabay McAllister Dance. Since moving to Portland, Noel has co-founded POV Dance, a site-specific project which brings new meaning to site-specificity. POV Dance will be performing at the SW Waterfront on August 2nd. Noel is grateful to have met the talented and acclaimed Mary Oslund and is honored to be on board with Oslund & Co.
