Sky is brazen and powerful, technically demanding, and plots the wide-open spaces and narrow gaps between a group of strangers. Oslund's newest work brings her together with the visual artist Christine Bourdette, whose stage design for the work includes a reshaping of the performing space through spectacular use of curved walls and sloped platform. Composer John Berendzen has created an exciting ensemble including a percussionist, a tenor singer, and an electronics wizard, to be played live for this performance debut of SKY. Rinda Chambers' design for costumes presents a daring palette of strong line, color and fabric, and Jeff Forbes' lighting design fields magnetic force across the entire evening.
